How to Remove and Refit a Rover 25 / MG ZR Rear Bumper
Step 1
Please follow my guide to removing the rear lights before continuing with step 2.Step 2
Once the rear lights are removed, you will see two bolts holding the top corner of the bumper on. Using the 10mm socket remove both of them.Step 3
Using the 10mm socket again, locate and remove the bolt in both wheel arches. It is at the top of the rear bumper, as shown below.Step 4
Still with the 10mm socket, locate and remove the bolt underneath the middle of the rear bumper. It is next to the tow eye, as shown below.Step 5
For this step it may be (definitely will be) easier to remove the rear wheels. You will need to use the Phillips head screw driver to remove the larger inner screw from each rear bumper end cap.
Step 6
Finally open the boot and remove the 5 screws in the top of the bumper. You will also need to remove the plugs that the screws go into. Once removed the bumper should come away. With the bumper removed your car shell should look like this.Step 7
To refit the bumper, just repeat steps 1 - 6 in reverse order. Please note the torque wrench settings for the bumper to body bolts: 22Nm / 16ft lb.
